Taking pictures and drawing

Archimedes was building Angry Birds towers this morning. He got he iPod and took a picture of the tower and then asked Jaymon to trace the picture using the iPad so he could then color it. We are thinking of getting a projector and I envision Archimedes using it for drawing.

Ixl and reading

Archimedes loves to sit and read books. He enjoys looking at I spy books and reading curious George.

We have also been working on the website ixl.com. Has gotten up to level B.4 which is represent numbers up to three.

Crayon wax painting

Today our visiting Home Instruction teacher, Donna, did an art project with Sam and Archimedes participated.

They took paper off of crayons and melted them in a candle just enough to be soft and drippy. They then painted / colored pictures. Van Gogh used thick paints and this is what they were simulating.

Archimedes was careful and thoughtful when using the candle to heat his crayons. He was happy with his finished artwork.

Taking pictures

Archimedes has discovered the joys of photography. He has been going around the house snapping pictures using the iPod. Here is a sampling of his work :)

New Thomas app for the iPad

Jaymon bought and had fun checking out a Thomas and Friends app with Medes.
It has lots of puzzles and games at varying levels of levels.

Botanical center

Today we went to the botanical center.
We looked at plants and fish and turtles. My brother took a picture of bananas. Bananas are funny.

I was given a pony toy and I colored a picture of a frog.

Science Center fun with family

Today we went to the Science Center and I helped with an experiment!

We did the egg drop and blew big bubbles. We went to the planetarium and watched movies about the stars and planets.
